Shulgin Leads Crucial Vote Against Government

The opposition spokesperson for Energy, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection will tonight go up against Minister Ludvig Fedorov in a crucial vote for the government.

Korina Shulgin, a well respected member of the Union Party will face the Centrist minister – largely regarded as one of the governments best performers.

Planned legislation would establish a new energy ‘watchdog’ for the country – seen by critics as the first step towards a deunified and privatised energy network.

Ms Shulgin will charge the government with ‘reckless decisions’ and a ‘lack of foresight’ and the government has acknowledged that a loss in the vote could prompt a crisis for the Prime Minister – as despite holding a majority in the lower house, many of his members have turned against him.

Members of the upper-house already rejected the first draft of the bill.
