In an interview with one of the country’s top newspapers, the Minister for Finance, Trade and Industry has said that Polasciana must continue to look for ‘new partners’ to help ‘kickstart’ its economic recovery. Benjamin Usan, under pressure to perform is presiding over the most stagnant phase in Polasciana’s economic history. Growth, now forecast at just 0.6%, down from 0.7% at the start of the year, said he was “Determined to get [the] economy moving again.” Since 2007, the economic outlook for the country has been bleak, with external investment plummeting. But Mr Usan said the country should remain ‘optimistic’ and said that the Government was keen on expanding Polasciana’s interests abroad. In his interview, released tomorrow, Mr Usan said that he had already spoken to his counterpart in Altai about boosting trade between the two nations – including tax changes – potentially the first of a new set of southern partners over the Great Sea.
