The Department for Finance and Industry has hit back at the leader of the Union Party’s suggestions that the Minister was being ‘complacent’ over the country’s economic recovery.
Benjamin Usan, the Finance Minister widely criticised as ‘too inexperienced’ to be leading the economic recovery, hit back at critics – saying that the starting of talks with Karakhstan over mineral exploration and a widely anticipated tax policy change with Altai were ‘examples’ of how the Government intended to proceed with securing economic growth.
Describing the opposition leader as “out of touch”, Mr Usan said that “The Union Party has failed to note that Polascianan industry is leading our recovery – only today we have seen what cooperation with foreign nations can bring – prosperity and the development of key industries. Our role is to facilitate that, and I look forward to further meetings with Ministers in both Karakhstan and Altai in the coming months.”
A potential deal with Karakhstan could be worth several billion Kryak, while changes to tariffs with Altai will see increased exports to the country.
