Yevginy Kalandarshivilli, the Minister responsible for Finance, Industry and Trade will propose the government’s new tax legislation in the lower-house of Parliament tomorrow.
A spokesman for the minister however said that no vote would be taken on passing the legislation, but the first-reading would ‘allow debate’.
Lazar Ulanov, who will lead the opposition in tomorrow’s reading, has however suggested that the Union Party will oppose ‘many aspects’ of the expected legislation.
Thought to include changes on business tax, creating a new lower-rate for smaller companies, the new legislation will also see a likely rise in the ‘added’ top-up income tax rate – which is used to distribute funds to the more populated regions of the northern states.
The Minister said he ‘would not speculate’ ahead of tomorrow’s announcement.
