Former minister and rival of Prime Minister Koruin Gruaman, Lena Zilberman has announced she has split with her long-term partner, Gregory Karanovic. The couple had been together for nearly 10 years but Ms Zilberman announced today that they had decided to end their relationship. Standing down from politics in April after suffering a miscarriage with their first child, Zilberman said the couple needed ‘time to heal’ but the ordeal has appeared to have taken more strain onto herself and Mr Karanovic than first thought. Her partner, 52, is one of the country’s richest businessmen. Ms Zilberman’s seat in the lower-house remains vacant, a by-election is expected to be called next month.
