Karasicena prepares for Tattar inauguration as political controversy and tension continues

President-elect Tattar decided to hold his inauguration in the capital and has called on people to “come together” with the event being seen as a national holiday. Polascianan workers were given two days off work – on Friday and Monday

President-elect Tattar will be formally inaugurated in the capital, Karasicena, this afternoon as part of a ceremony being called a “moment of national celebration and unity”. The city has been preparing for the procession for the past week, with major disruption to its main avenues and parks. Mr Tattar, who won the presidential election last year in the second round, was convinced of holding the event in the capital by close advisors in a show of goodwill, despite coming from the country’s largest city, Arvi – where outgoing President Artamova was inaugurated for a second time four years ago after his historic reelection bid.

The inauguration will be attended by all major Polascianan politicians as well as key figures from across Gallia. The Eiffelland Chancellor is expected to be the most high-profile foreign attendee alongside the Chairman of the Gallian and Centrican League, Bruno Hänsenberger – his first visit since Polasciana joined the pact earlier this month. General Jensen Hendentenberg from the Interlaken alliance is also expected to attend in a show of solidarity for Polasciana’s ongoing contribution to the Lier conflict. Mr Tattar is also thought to have extended invitations to several leading Polascianan celebrities

Following the event this afternoon, Tattar is expected to travel straight to the Niveri Palace where he will meet with President Artamova. His team is then expected to begin preparations for the first session of the new Federal Council on Monday. Ahead of the new term, Mr Tattar will announce his choice for key advisory positions as well as his replacement as Federal Council Leader. Some believe Mr Tattar is likely to appoint Kamchetkan Councilman Leo Serrantes, whilst other insiders still retain that the President-elect wants to promote women in the party to more senior positions. Should that be the case, Mr Tattar will only have a limited choice – either Sofia Lazarev from Chimsk or his own replacement as Council-person for Arvi – Aneta Kappeler.

As President, Tattar will then meet with Prime Minister Dahn and other senior government figures on Tuesday as he seeks to implement his election agenda. A heavy focus on improving employment conditions and creating bold new infrastructure projects is expected to dominate – with additional regional funding pots being created, as well as an overhaul of Polasciana’s domestic security legislation.
