Assemblyman Emil Badal has criticised a deal by the Kamchetkan Governor, Stepan Michalvich, which has reduced the states annual grant by almost 8%. Badal, who represents the state in the upper-house said that while the state was one of the ‘better off’ in the nation, it also had some of the ‘hardest hit’ regions from the economic downturn. Criticising newly appointed Finance Minister Benjamin Usan, he said that ‘Karasicenan based politicians’ were ‘ripping off ordinary families’. His outspoken comments come just a month after clinging to his seat in the Federal Assembly in the recent Presidential Election. Speaking from the chamber yesterday, Mr Badal said that ‘no other state’ had been asked to ‘sacrifice’ as much as Kamchetka. The Government responded, suggesting it was responding to concerns over the unfair bias shown towards ‘southern’ states.
