Resigning Former Minister Set To Support Protégée

The outgoing former Centrist minister, Lena Zilberman has said she may take to the campaign trail to lend support to a former colleague.

The Centrists have suggested that a potential election for the Amarian place in the lower house could be called for next month. Aides to the former member have suggested the Centrists aim to use the election to ‘test the electoral waters’ ahead of the presidential election, earmarked for a first vote on October 23rd, with a run-off vote two weeks later on November 6th.

The regional seat of Rogan has always been held by the party and Zilberman held one of the highest majorities on record – standing at 83.3% at the last election in 2008. But many have suggested her personal vote remained high, and the election could be held at a ‘poor moment’ for the party.

Illya Ellanovic worked with Zilberman prior to being selected as the candidate.

The Union Party are set to select their own candidate in the coming weeks.
