Former president Koruin Gruaman’s administration continues to suffer after a poll, commissioned by the opposition Union Party, has concluded that the government is severely untrusted in the wake of the latest round of political infighting and scandal. The Centrist government’s approval rating has hit an all-time low. Former Prime Minister Maksim Obelschenko, whose party commissioned the poll, said the Polascianan Centrists were in “disarray” and the government was “weak” and “lacked direction.” The United Nationalist Democrat leader, Tymur Rubin, has privately commented that he believes his party remains in a strong position – despite publicly denying that he seeks an arrangement to join the Gruaman government – in a desperate attempt to prevent an election in the coming months. Both Gruaman and Rubin have issued private concerns surrounding the dominance of the Union Party – one senior advisor to the Gruaman administration said he believed “they will be unstoppable” should an election be called in the short-term.
